Brief
Laya is a comprehensive travel management app that facilitates booking, expense tracking, and seamless money management for travelers.
Developed throughout 2022-23, the app has gained significant traction, boasting a steadily growing user base.

The primary goal of Laya is to provide users a worry-free space to managing individual or group finances during travel. Offering features such as Joint purchases and Split bill, Laya enables travelers to collectively pay expenses with friends, allowing for the repayment of debts over time via installments.

In my role as the product designer, I had the privilege of working closely with Yotam Reif (CEO) and Ori Gross (CPO) to craft an app that prioritizes the traveler's experience. The design process involved  attention to user flows and the creation of a full design system to ensure consistency across all project components.

Design System
An integral part of the project was the establishment of a comprehensive design system. Beginning with fundamental rules, I systematically expanded the system, incorporating additional components and devices as the design process evolved.
The Proccess
Initiating the design process, I conducted in-depth research on leading apps, analyzing their tonality, color usage, language, and user approach. After reviewing these insights, I identified areas for improvement and relevance to enhance our platform.
After discussions and brainstorming sessions, our key objective was to display the user's primary actions on the home page. The main wallet is strategically positioned at the top, providing immediate insight into the current wallet balance. This real-time awareness empowers users to make informed decisions on whether to initiate a group transaction, request funds from members, or execute direct transfers.
Load Money
Loading money is a pivotal point in the user flow, and our primary objective is to provide a trustworthy experience.

The components are designed to be straightforward and clear, while the language maintains a simple tone.
Users are informed about the importance behind this action and how it effects their engagement with the platform.
Exchange Money
Groups
The group section serves as a dedicated space for users to manage finances with their contacts. The initial view displays what the user owes and is owed. At the top, a simple click on the plus icon provides access to group actions.
Transfer Money
Joint Purchase & Split Bill
This feature provides the needs of travelers who want to make group purchases or distribute costs among participants. Users start by selecting individuals with whom they want to split the bill and then specify the amount. After creating the request, a tracking screen allows them to monitor progress.
Transactions
The transactions section is designed to showcase recent activities and tasks. Each entry specifies the transaction type, providing clarity on whether the user needs to make a payment or collect one.
Design Process - Driving Business Outcomes
The platform has garnered positive feedback from our existing user base.
New opportunities to explain features, ultimately boosting brand and platform awareness through fully operational services.
Potentially gaining information for a better understanding of the users, leading to a clearer roadmap in the future.
Collaborating with the product manager and developers was both enjoyable and challenging. I look forward to future opportunities to further enhance this platform.
